What a Yoga Community can Offer

Over the last several months I have met so many wonderful people. I have yoga to thank for that. From my various teacher trainings, classes I teach, and classes I take. This beautiful community has filled my heart and soul. I mean, how often are we making new connections as adults when we aren’t at our jobs? Just last night I chatted with my ‘mat neighbor’ about how fun and engaging the class we took was. I’ve even witnessed my students chatting amongst themselves asking about how their weeks had been.

Having a yoga community can offer an opportunity to develop new friendships and stir up positive feelings in the body. We are surrounded by several, if not all like-minded people who love to move, breathe and work toward embodiment. The studio and even Zoom can help us to foster a sense of community through open and respectful dialogue. If you aren’t finding this where you practice, I encourage you to explore other studios! Who knows, you just might find your people.
